Privacy Policy – Sat Lav
Last updated: July 17, 2025
Sat Lav respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This policy explains what limited data we collect and how it is used.
1. No Personal Accounts or Tracking
Sat Lav does not collect or store any personally identifiable information. You can use the app fully without logging in or creating an account. We do not track you across apps or websites.
2. Location Access
The app uses your device’s precise location only to display nearby public toilets and improve search relevance. This location data is processed locally on your device and is never stored on our servers.
3. User-Generated Comments
Users may submit anonymous comments about toilets. To support moderation and content deletion, the app assigns a randomly generated device ID to your comments. This ID is stored locally on your device, is not linked to your identity, and is used solely to allow you to delete your own comments.
We automatically filter offensive words and allow users to flag inappropriate content. Comments with multiple flags are automatically hidden.
4. Firestore & Google Services
We use Google Firebase Firestore to store and retrieve public toilet data and user-submitted comments. Stored data may include:
- Toilet names, ratings, and attributes
- Comment text, anonymous display name, timestamp, and device ID
- Flag count on comments (for moderation)
No personal identifiers are collected or stored.
5. Contact and Reporting
If you'd like to report an issue or contact us directly, you can use the "Report an Issue" option in the app menu. Alternatively, email us at: contact@satlav.com.
We aim to respond to flagged or reported content within 24 hours.
6. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated occasionally. Significant changes will be noted in the app or on our website.
